Your perfume reveals your character. Do you know what kind of perfume you wear? And to which olfactory family does it belong? Here is the description of each of these families:
woody family
It is a warm family that brings together perfumes composed of vetiver, sandalwood, cedar, patchouli or even guaiac wood or oud wood. These notes are found in the base notes of perfumes, they are heavy and bring hold to perfumes.
Fern family
It is very often associated with masculine perfumes, but it is also a family that includes feminine and unisex perfumes. It brings together notes of lavender, oak moss, but also bergamot or geranium . It is a family with complex and varied odors which are more difficult to decipher. Its name comes from the Fougère Royale perfume by HOUBIGANT created in 1882.
Aromatic family
This is one of the most telling families since aromatic perfumes are composed of all the aromatics, we know such as sage, thyme, lavender or rosemary. Again it is a typically male family that is heavy and manly.
Oriental family
The fragrances of this family are sweet, powdery and often vanilla. Musks, amber, vanilla, tobacco or even opoponax are very often used. Sweet, sensual, and animal notes emerge from these oriental fragrances.
chypre family
The chypre perfumes are easily recognizable because they have a lot of character. Notes of oak moss, labdanum and even patchouli are associated with this family.
flowery family
This is the family that contains the most fragrances. It is mainly composed of feminine perfume which reveals notes of rose, jasmine, tuberose, iris, violet or even lily of the valley. Fresh, natural and sweet notes characterize this floral family.
Citrus family
Citrus are essential oils obtained from the zest of citrus fruits such as bergamot, lemon, grapefruit, tangerine or even orange. Sweet, fresh, and sparkling notes emerge from the fragrances of this family.
This family is very broad because it includes Eau Colognes which are often composed of citrus fruits.
